I'm a botanist / ichthyologist / wetlands ecologist / systems modeler / environmental policy wonk currently working on federal coordination of climate change science in Washington, DC. When I'm not keeping up with the latest news in climate change, you may find me talking to Great Lakes scientists, policy makers, and citizens about their perceptions of "ecosystem approaches to management" of said Lakes - and how those underlying philosophies frame the science, models, and policies used to manage the Lakes (my as-yet unfinished dissertation). Outside of such academic endeavors, I enjoy lots of normal things like reading, hiking, and traveling.
